- Height – Your fence should be at least four feet high. Check with your state and town regulations though, some areas may require a taller fence.

- Material – The type of material is completely up to you, but keep in mind the lifespan of your the material, this is one downside to a wood fence.
- Gate – The gate needs to open outward, away from the pool area. A self closing, self latching fence is necessary.
